Lisa Anne Smith

Lisa Anne Smith was born in Burnaby, B.C. She has had a lengthy career of community service, volunteering with organizations such as the Museum of Vancouver Education Department, the Roundhouse Community Centre Engine 374 Pavilion and Old Hastings Mill Store Museum, Vancouver’s oldest surviving building, c. 1868. Her published books include Engine 374 and Me (2024), Hastings Mill: The Historic Times of a Vancouver Community (2022), Emily Patterson: The Heroic Life of a Milltown Nurse (2017), Vancouver Is Ashes: The Great Fire of 1886 (2014), Our Friend Joe: The Joe Fortes Story (2012) and Travels with St. Roch: A Book for Kids (2001).
